Grayscale Launches First Investment Trusts for Sui’s Core Protocols
Grayscale, the digital asset investment platform, has introduced two new single-asset trusts focused on Sui blockchain protocols—DeepBook and Walrus. The Grayscale DeepBook Trust and Grayscale Walrus Trust exclusively invest in the native tokens DEEP and WAL, respectively, offering accredited investors daily subscription opportunities through private placements.
DeepBook operates as a decentralized central limit order book (CLOB) on Sui, serving as a foundational liquidity LAYER for the ecosystem. It underpins decentralized exchanges, wallets, and other applications, facilitating seamless token trading. Walrus, on the other hand, is a blockchain-based data storage platform designed to handle the exponential data demands driven by AI tools.
This move marks Grayscale’s expansion beyond its flagship Bitcoin and ethereum products into niche blockchain use cases, reflecting growing institutional interest in DeFi, social, and gaming applications. The firm, known for converting its GBTC and ETHE trusts into ETFs, continues to diversify its offerings to cater to evolving investor appetites.
